Do you want a unit that faces the sunrise, or are you a late sleeper that doesn’t want to be woken up every morning but the sunshine? This is something you should ask when touring an apartment complex, as you can ask the leasing agent or landlord which side of the building receives the most sunlight. While some people love to keep their blinds open and get as much natural light as possible, others may work night shifts and want their apartment to be darker during the day.
Noise Levels
How much do you value peace and quiet? If you’re not in your apartment much or don’t mind hearing people outside, then you may not care where your unit is located. However, if you go to bed early and do not want any outside noises, think about the location and if it is near the main road or outdoor amenities, such as a playground. Also, the higher floors in apartment buildings are typically the quietest, as they don’t get as much noise from the street or neighbors above their unit.
Access To Amenities
Many apartment complexes come with various amenities, such as a fitness center, pool, gaming room, tennis courts, and more. Depending on your lifestyle, you may want a unit that is very close to certain amenities, or as far away as possible from the resources. For example, being close to the gym could be great for those who don’t want to travel far to get in a quick workout, but being right next to the fitness center could be noisy. Take into account the busyness of the pathways outside the unit, and ask the leasing agent if there is a unit available that is not on such a busy walkway.
